Are you using your brand-new web browser? Download these add-ons for better security and privacy protection!

Overview:

The internet is not a safe place for your privacy. Whether you go, some are secretly spying on your device, collecting all of your user data and selling it for advertisements. However, others on the dark web will use your private data for malicious purposes, you would never know what you're downloading to your computer and the serious consequences for your overall lack of security protection.

Here are some questions about your problem:

  • Are you worried about your computer's security?
  • Does your web browser claim to protect you from viruses, but you aren't sure if it's true?
  • Are you only using Windows Security as your preferred anti-virus protection?
  • What can you do to protect your device's security and privacy from anyone on the internet?

Continue reading this blog post, and we will reveal several ways of improving your computer's security without the need for third-party security software.

Disclaimer: I will never promote any malicious or phishing websites to you. I have done my research and have concluded that these extensions are completely safe to use.

Which extension can improve your privacy and security?

Note: All these extensions I chose are from the Microsoft Edge add-on store. Whatever web browsers you use, download these extensions from their store instead.

1. Malwarebytes Browser Guard:

I have already mentioned this add-on in this blog post before. Malwarebytes is a popular anti-virus software that can remove many types of malware and offer real-time protection for your computer. But we're not talking about Malwarebytes themselves. The best part about it is that they have an add-on for your use, Browser Guard. You don't even need to download Malwarebytes to get the extension.

I have personally used Browser Guard to protect my computer from viruses and block certain websites that could potentially contain malicious code or advertisements. When researching one of my old blogs, I researched and collected images to use for one of my blogs, when all of a sudden, Browser Guard just blocked malware from attempting to download something into my system. The internet is a scary place, and Browser Guard can be your bodyguard.

2. Ublock Origin Lite:

Are you tired of getting tons of annoying advertisements from your favourite website, and it ends up slowing down your computer significantly? Also, many malvertising (malware advertisers) ads are a huge problem when looking at several shady websites. Sometimes, they'll download something into your computer without your permission, and that's a security issue that your web browser should have patched right about now.

Just use Ublock Origin Lite; this wouldn't be a problem anymore. Even if there are hundreds of different ad blockers in the add-on store, this particular ad blocker can be a lifesaver. Say goodbye to a lot of annoying pop-ups, disgusting and malicious ads from any websites ever again.

Disclaimer: Some websites have built-in anti-adblock measures, e.g., YouTube. Disable your adblocker if it's causing issues with your browsing experience.

3. Privacy Badger:

Don't you just hate it when big tech companies have secret trackers hidden in your browser, and their primary purpose is to collect your user data and use it for advertising purposes? Even if they have built-in tracking prevention, it only removes it after you close your web browser, so by the time you're using the web, they have already sold your data to paying advertisers for their financial needs. Now you know why Chrome and Edge have a high market share value?

This can be resolved by using Privacy Badger. Privacy Badger can help automatically block invisible trackers. Instead of keeping lists of what to block, Privacy Badger automatically discovers trackers based on their behaviour.
